Below you will find the answers to commonly asked questions about therapy.

If you have additional questions, please reach out to schedule a brief consultation at: 844-838-6112

I’ve never done therapy before, what do I expect for the first session?

The first session is often called the “intake.” It can take up to three sessions or more for me to get to know you, your experiences, and to decide if I am the best fit for your needs. During the intake, we will review the paperwork you completed prior to the appointment, you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions, and I will also ask you additional questions about your history so that I can get to know you better. As therapy is a collaborative experience, we will also discuss potential therapy goals. You can share what you are comfortable with sharing during the intake.

What are your fees?

The cost for a one-hour session is $200.00

The cost for a one-hour EMDR session is $200.00

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance. I am happy to provide you with a superbill for possible out of network reimbursement. It will be your responsibility to submit the superbill for possible reimbursement to your insurance provider. It may be helpful to contact your insurance provider in order to ascertain if they will cover partial or all of out of network provider costs.

What are your hours and do you offer telehealth as well as in person?

My hours are currently Tuesday through Friday 8-6 p.m MDT/MST. I do not have weekend hours at this time. I offer both in person and tele-health appointments. I am licensed in both the states of Colorado and California.

How do I get started?

Great question! You can contact me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation call so that I can answer your questions and you can decide if we may be a good fit. If you decide to move forward, we will schedule a one-hour intake appointment. You will also be asked to complete the intake forms at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled intake appointment. If the forms are not completed prior to the appointment, then your appointment will be canceled/rescheduled. This is important as I need the time to review your paperwork prior to our appointment.

What do I do after hours or on the weekend if I am experiencing an emergency or a crisis?

I’m glad you asked as it is important for you to have support! Please note that while I do my best to respond to inquiries on a timely basis, there may be times when I am not able to review client appointment requests on a daily basis. I also do not review voicemails/read emails during off hours and on the weekends. Additionally, I am not available 24/7 for support or consultations; if you are currently in crisis and feel unsafe, please call Colorado’s Crisis Hotline at 1-844-493-8255, text TALK to 38255, or call 911. You can also go to your nearest emergency room. For additional information, please go to www.coloradocrisisservices.org. (Please see resources tab for my information for both Colorado and California crisis services). Additionally, there is a new nationally available number, 988, to call for people to connect with a counselor for suicide prevention and mental health crises. There are also crisis walk-in clinics that are open 24/7 (please see www.coloradocrisisservices.org). If you are an already established client, and need to be seen sooner, you can also reach out to me, and I can see if I can find a sooner appointment. If you are a new client, then I will do my best to get an intake appointment scheduled as quickly as possible.

How long will I be in therapy and how often will I meet with you?

Therapy is a collaboration between the therapist and the individual. Thus, the length of time for therapy depends on the individual’s situation and goals. In order to maximize the potential benefits of therapy, it will be important for you to work on implementing what is discussed in therapy outside of the therapy session. If you have questions about if therapy is benefiting you, please talk to me about this.

In regard to frequency, when I am first getting to know you, I would prefer to meet on a weekly basis. Most clients will benefit from weekly therapy in order to see progress more quickly. However, I also know that life circumstances do not always allow for this to happen. During the intake, I always discuss the frequency of sessions with the client.

How can I communicate with you?

You can call me at 844-838-6112.

Please note that this is a voicemail messaging system. This means that my phone does not ring, and will alert me when a voicemail is left. Additionally, you can email me at: meghan@drwildetherapy.com

I do not have a texting system, thus please email or call me. Please remember-evening/weekend hours-if you are experiencing an emergency/crisis-to contact the crisis line.

What about what I tell you in therapy-is it confidential?

The therapy space is a safe space for you to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Yes, with the exception of a few areas, what we discuss in therapy is confidential. You can sign releases of information for anyone you want involved in your treatment. In fact, it is often an effective idea to have medical providers, and other members of your treatment team connected with your therapist so that we can all provide support. Per Colorado law-there are exceptions to confidentiality. For instance, if you are at imminent risk to yourself/others, meet the criteria for grave disability, or report child/elder abuse (past or present)-therapists are allowed to break confidentiality. Prior to your intake, you will receive documents that outline confidentiality, and the limits of confidentiality. We will also review all of this during our first session.
